Robert De Niro: US suffering from 'temporary insanity' on climate change

Robert De Niro took aim at the Trump administration's stance on climate change, saying the U.S. was suffering from "a case of temporary insanity" and would "eventually cure itself by voting our dangerous leader" out of the White House.

De Niro joined an impressive line-up of speakers at Dubai's World Government Summit, including international dignitaries and heads of state, entrepreneurs, scientists, and world financial leaders.

"I am talking about my own country, the United States of America. We don’t like to say we are a ‘backward’ country so let’s just say we’re suffering from a case of temporary insanity," De Niro said, according to The Associated Press.

De Niro added that the U.S. would "eventually cure itself by voting our dangerous leader" out of the White House.
