Gillibrand: Congress should take action if Trump doesn’t resign

Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who was one of several Democratic senators who late last year said Trump should resign due to sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Gillibrand said in an interview that it was up to Congress to hold Donald Trump accountable if he won't resign after more than a dozen women accused him of sexual misconduct.

"I think he should resign, and if he’s unwilling to do that, which is what I assume, then Congress should hold him accountable. We’re obligated to have hearings," Gillibrand said during an interview with CBS's “60 Minutes.”

When asked on "60 Minutes" why it took until late last year to call for Donald Trump to be held accountable, Gillibrand said "something changed" when he was elected, "and I think it changed for women."

Gillibrand added that Hillary Clinton is still her “greatest role model in politics.”
