New poll: Oprah Winfrey would beat Donald Trump by double digits

A new poll from right-leaning pollster Rasmussen found that Oprah Winfrey would beat Donald Trump by 10 points in a hypothetical 2020 presidential matchup.

48 percent of Americans said they would vote for Oprah Winfrey, compared with 38 percent who said they would vote to reelect Donald Trump. 14 percent were undecided.

The Poll also found that 76 percent of Democrats and 22 percent of Republicans said they would support Oprah Winfrey. 44 percent of independents say they would vote for her.

Sources close to Winfrey have said that while she is “intrigued” in the idea, she is not actively considering a presidential bid, the hill reported.

The poll comes after Winfrey gave a powerful speech about sexual harassment and racial justice at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Donald Trump gets the support of 66 percent of Republicans, 12 percent of Democrats and 38 percent of independents.
