President Obama: May God grant us the wisdom for how we can prevent gun violence

After the deadly mass shooting at a church in Texas on Sunday, President Obama took to Twitter to call for action on gun violence.

"We grieve with all the families in Sutherland Springs harmed by this act of hatred, and we’ll stand with the survivors as they recover,” President Obama said.

“May God also grant all of us the wisdom to ask what concrete steps we can take to reduce the violence and weaponry in our midst,” he added.

At least 26 people were killed after a gunman opened fire at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said it was the deadliest mass shooting in the state's history, and it came a little more than a month after the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, in Las Vegas.
