Dem lawmaker vows to force House vote on Trump impeachment ‘before Christmas’

Democratic Rep. Al Green announced today that he will force a vote on the House floor to impeach Donald Trump before Christmas, according to The Hill report.

"I now announce that before Christmas, there will be a vote on the chief inciter of racism, bigotry, hatred, xenophobia, sexism, ethnocentrism," Green said in a House floor speech. "There will be a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on the impeachment of the president."

“And while I have been told that there are political consequences for what I will do, I accept the consequences,” he added.

"Whatever others will do is their choice," he said. "My conscience dictates that I will vote to impeach. Let others do what they may. History will judge us all."

But he did not offer a specific date for when he would force a vote, saying only that it would be before the December holiday.
